I am making chicken stock from chicken feet, heads, backs and necks with soup veggies and fresh herbs for friends who have been really sick with a horrible flu. All 4 of them - parents and 2 kids. The illness seemed to go from high fever, sore throat, through stomach upset, diarrhea, 0 appetite etc.
I wanted to make them soup this week, but feeling as bad as I have shopping was the last thing on my mind.
The smell of the chicken soup is driving me nuts! I want to dive into it. I have not had chicken soup since I got the results from enterolab, and no poultry since the turkey soup and duck seemed to upset me.
How can a Jewish grandmother get well without chicken soup for the soul?

The description of your soup is making my mouth water. Are you able to eat bananas? I thought of you this morning when I got one of those emails extoling the use of bananas. I don't know if it's true...... but one of the things said it had antacid properties. Have no idea if it would work though.

Yeah Martha, and since I cannot get over this flare in my soul it will stay.
Shirley - bananas give me the worst attacks of GERD. I wish I could eat them.
I think I am going to have to go all the way back to nothing but meat (beef and lamb) and potatoes, and baked apples. Maybe that will help me get under control.
