Rough Patch and Dr. Appointment

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Well, the last part of last week and this weekend has been a bit rough. I think the latest Lupron shot is really hitting me hard...I got the 3month dose this time. On Friday my focus was shot. My belly is swollen up like a balloon to the point where I can't get my jeans on (actually this moring I got them on, but decided it was going to be a long uncomfortable day, so I changed into a nice elastic waist skirt...hopefully I don't get called to any job sites  ). I've also been really tired.

Fortunately, I do see my doctor today to start talking about the next step. I want this chapter of my life to be over. I've been getting more nervous about the likely surgery, but it hasn't changed my mind yet. Right now I'm thinking, the sooner the better though. I hope he agrees.

I know this isn't MC related (I thought the belly was, but I was good last week and it has not subsided), but you guys are such good listeners.

Hi Katy,

Bummer! I hope the reaction lets up soon. I wonder if you could be developing an intolerance for the Lupron.

In a way it sounds as though it could be MC-related. It certainly has some of the features of an autoimmune reaction.

I hope you feel better as the day proceeds.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Katy...I'm glad at least that you will be able to see your doc today. I hope the swelling goes down soon...how uncomfortable!

Good luck today...Love, Jill

Hello Katy, I hope you eventually get this worked out. I know about swollen tummies. Even before having CC. I had major woman troubles, and hormone troubles and you never knew what size you were going to be at the end of the day. So it would be a good bet to wear something with the ability for expansion without cutting the circulation off. And I know you know what I'm talken bout. It was so nice after I had my final surgery to NOT have to deal with that part, but then of course about 10 or so years later I got CC, and was back to expanding clothes once again.

But I think it also has to do with my having adhesions and edemetriosis (sp), and it is also a good cover story when you have gained weight.
