Hello! It's been a while!

Post by jillian357 »

Hello everyone!

Gosh, it's been forever since I have posted.....life has quickly spiraled out of control and before I knew it it's been a few years since I have checked in. I see some familiar faces along with a ton of new folks -- welcome! Sorry to hear you are suffering with MC, but believe me, you have found the BEST place in the world to find help!

I was a total mess when I first received my diagnosis in 2008, but believe me, it's NOT the end.....there is healing and relief out there, and starting here is the best thing you can do for your health.

I'm doing well, my CC is very well under control (as long as I watch my stress) and of course, honor my dietary sensitivities. I'm still taking Entocort, but have been able to wean down to 3mg/day with hope of eventually getting completely off of it.

I'm still running & have 4 marathons under my belt now, and have also gone back to school to become a certified personal trainer. Within the past year I have changed jobs and opened my own business -- very scary, and not lucrative yet, but confident once I get settled in things will turn around.

I'm sharing all this not to toot my own horn (hope it didn't sound that way, not my intent!!) I just wanted all the folks who are newly diagnosed and fearful about their future to know that it DOES get better....much better. When I was first diagnosed I was very very sick and never thought my life would be normal again. It's so much better now, so keep the faith and take good care of yourself!
You are worth it!

Best of health!
Jill

Jill, what an encouraging post. I am glad to hear you have your MC under control. I am also encouraged to hear we can keep in shape in spite of this disease. I have found it difficult to keep up with exercising although I know I should be doing it no matter how bad I feel. I have just started again and although I may not be running a marathon - who knows!

Thank you for coming back to remind all of us that "we can get our lives back."

Hi Jillian,
Your post delivered me just the message of hope and encouragement I needed today. I ate at a restaurant last night, had the non-gluten pizza crust yet don't feel well today.
3mg of entocort, it's great that you are doing well on such a low dose.

Hi Jill,

It's good to see an update from you, and it's great to hear that you have your MC symptoms under such good control.

I wish you great success in your new business, and in future marathons.

Thanks for the update. Take care of yourself -- you always set the bar so much higher than most of the rest of us,

Tex

Hi Jil,

Your post reminds us that with the right combination of diet and/or medication, it is possible to tame the MC monster.

Thank you for your uplifting post.

It is so very much an honor to meet all of you......and YES YES YES, I promise you that it can and will get better!

Even when things seem hopeless, keep moving forward.....no matter how slow, you are still making progress towards feeling better and healing your gut. When you are frustrated, lean on your friends and family, but don't ever give up.

Tex, I am not worthy of such a wonderful compliment....I would not be where I am today without your knowledge and support!
I will never forget the kindness you extended to me. :hug1:

Love,
Jill
