Almond Yogurts

Post by Gloria »

I saw an Almond Dream yogurt today in the grocery store: http://www.tastethedream.com/products/product/5282/.php

Another store advertised a cultured almond milk called Amande. Their website doesn't give the ingredients, but they do state that it is soy-free and gluten-free. Here is their website:

The more time passes, the more products that are becoming available for us. We are becoming mainstream!

I saw that Soy Delicious now makes an Almond ice cream too. I haven't tried it yet but I think I will like it more that the coconut ice cream. Unfortunately they still put that nasty carrageenan in it (in the almond ice cream).

Yes, So Delicious seems to love using carregeenan. It ruins so many otherwise appealing items. I didn't see any carregeenan in the Almond Dream yogurt, though it did contain tapioca and some type of gum.

Gabby,
I bought an ice cream machine (refurbished cuisinart from overstock) and have been making ice creams ever since. I use coconut milk, no gums and various flavorings. The ice cream is delicious, and keeps me from feeling ultra deprived.
After months of looking for chocolate I could eat (they all contain soy lecitin)I found an unsweetened bar made with 100% cacao GF, SF. It's made by Dagoba. I melt it and put it in my basic mix, and it makes the most delicious ice cream.

Costco has started stocking the machines for $33. You can't beat that with a stick. I can assure you it pays itself off in no time at all.

The ice cream machine is a great idea. Thanks for the tip. $33 is a great price.

I'm going to have to try it, even though tapioca is on my MRT "yellow" list. I do miss yogurt since going DF/GF.

Thanks Gloria, for the info.
