Has anyone tried Schar products? When I was in Rome the hotel manager picked up bread and other things I could eat at the local pharmacy. One was Schar white bread. I thought it was great. The other was Schar Yogo Plum cakes, which were also great. They almost tasted like the old Twinkies without the cream inside. I have not seen either in our area.
I have some type of mix from Schar. I became intolerant to one or more ingredients in the mix, so it is sitting on my shelf, waiting for me to pay attention to it, like so many other mixes. I should give them to the local food pantry. I've seen the brand sold in some of the stores in my town. It's manufactured in Germany, isn't it?

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
They sell Schar products at Safeway and Sunflower Market in the Denver area. I've tried their baguettes and loved them.

I have had Schar crackers, they tasted very close to a regular saltine cracker. I also have tried schar pizza crust and it was pretty good too, I was impressesd both times.
Problem is I live in Florida and grabbed the crackers while I was visiting Ohio, the crust someone bought for me here locally.

I must have been thinking of another mix I have. I've seen the Schar brand in the stores, then. I don't think I've tried any. I'm not home, so I can't check.

Nancy, I found Schar bread at my local Walmart Supercenter. It was with all the other gluten free products. It contained soy so I didn't get any for me, but it did look good- like thinly sliced Italian bread.

I tried their rolls, and didn't think they were as good as some other options I have. That doesn't mean I won't consider them again, as they are long-life without freezing which I sometimes have a need for.
Their crackers were good, though. Very similar to ordinary Jatz crackers.
