According to Dr. Herbert Benson, in the Relaxation Revolution, "genetic research now shows conclusively that the mind can influence the body down to the genetic level. Your mind has the ability to change the way your body and your genes function."

So, in effect, habitually practicing relaxation techniques can change gene expression. Triggered genes can be un-triggered. The extensive studies Dr. Benson and his team have done to prove to the medical establishment that this does indeed work are extremely convincing.

I have experienced the power of my mind on my body a number of times, but every morning I wake up thinking about everything I have to do and not about the importance of relaxing. This is frustrating, because at some level I just don't give myself permission to believe that things can be better.

For those new to the board, I believe we determined that your relapse was due to the colonoscopy preparation liquid that you took. Also, stress plays a big part in your relapses.
