Today was a gorgeous day so my bf and a few friends went to a beach in Gloucester. On the way home we went to Woodmans in Essex (a favorite of mine...) all of their fried seafood is gluten free. Since they use buttermilk before they coat and fry them, they just used water for my fried whole belly clams. And they were delish!!!! Highly recommended!

I grew up in Lynn and Woodman's is my all time favorite. I know those clams well. The last time I was there my daughter, the one who just got married, was a baby. Now my mouth is watering. I still have friends and family in the area (I'm in Vermont). Maybe someday I'll go there again.

That's great news!! Anything seafood related gets my attention. I have been preparing my own lobster when I visit my house in Maine, my neighbor there is a lobsterman. It's very good news that there are places preparing GF seafood, thanks for the update!

Lobsters are the best MC safe food... We are lucky in New England to have the sweetest seafood ever found... Maine lobsters!!

I have vacation house in Georgetown Maine and our neighbor Steve is a lobsterman, so fresh lobsters are always on the menu. I learned how to make clarified butter (Ghee) from Steve's wife.

LOVE the North Shore! We rented a house on Wingaersheek Beach from friends some years ago, and my son got married last summer at the Smith Barn/Brooksby Farm in Peabody. They live near Portsmouth, NH. Maybe we will make a trip to Woodman's! Thanks for the tip. Long ago, we went to The Clam Box in Ipswich--any reviews on that?

And, love me some lobstah! Lemon juice is good enough for me, though I have tried Earth Balance also. I'm sure ghee is better.

Joe, your house in Maine looks great. My grandparents lived in Brunswick--grandfather worked at Bath Iron Works. Where's Georgetown in relation to that?

Jenny..."Lobstaas" ... Sounds like you are from Southie LOL. Spoken like a true New Englandar. Now for the real question....how would you say "park the car".... only someone from New England would understand that one!!

Suze Brunswick is just one town south of Georgetown, I go shopping in Brunswick at the Hannafords just over the bridge for groceries while there. Georgetown is out by the five islands region just south of Booth Bay. Nestle and I love it up there.

Yeah I love the north shore. We live about 30 min from Gloucester but, Evans mom lives there so we can just spend the night whenever we want. His family also has a Cape house which is also awesome, the Cape is one of my favorite places. We haven't ever vacationed in Maine, maybe we will look into it for the end of the summer for a long weekend.
I have heard good things about the Clam Box but, only Woodmans is gluten free and can accommodate dairy free.
Haha Joe! Pahhk the cah!
I'm from CT but, Evan was born and raised here and has a very strong accent! I mean, a wicked strong accent!

Recent hilarious BC comic strip: If you follow the strip, you know they frequently have LOL
definitions. So, this one was something to the effect of " Smallpox"=little green spaces in Boston."

Hmm. Joe, has it been a long time since you have had a house guest? I feel a need for lobster coming on! It's been a LONG time!

Even I know how to say pahk the cah New England style, and I have a South African/British accent.

Joe-What a beautiful house! Classic Maine and it definitely helps to have a neighbor as a lobsterman! I had lobster on a deck in Portland yesterday. It is my favorite seafood of all time.

Jenny, thanks for the the info on Woodman's. I have never been there because we've always gone to The Clam Box. Not sure if they are GF. We will definitely be going to Woodman's this summer.

Joe, your Maine house is beautiful. We have always been Maine vacationers since I was a kid. Nothing like it.

This forum is just endless when it comes to good information.

"I pahked the cah in Hahvard Yahd" do I pass the NE test??

Not a lobster fan but the fried clams sound delish. Love Maine and do you ever rent out the home Joe? Would be interested.

Married previously to a NEnglander so definitely the pahhk the cah!
