What a wonderful and feeling story Joe. I agree with you that they are truly intelligent and caring and oh so agree with Tex, about brigher and more caring than most GIs.
Without friends like I have here this disease would be oh so much harder.
Love you and Nestle.

HAHAHAHA, Jean! Love the extended dog family photo. All adorable, and oh yes, your granddaughter too! LOL!
Theo is something else! And until now I thought the bichon friese was the cutest little white dog. The coton definitely trumps the bichon, IMHO! What are their personality traits?
Hugs,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Cotons are related to Bichons or so I have been told. They come originally from Madagascar, the "Royal Dog of Madagascar" in fact, pictured on their postage stamp. They are remarkably friendly good-natured dogs. Theo has never met a person he doesn't like. I got my first coton about 15 years ago after researching breeds. I lived and still live in an apartment and I wanted a dog that was more likely to be a good neighbor, not one known for barking or being excessively hyper. I was also hoping for a non-shedder. Cotons are the breed I came up with and my first one Remi lived up to his billing. When Remi died of cancer I thought about getting a short-haired dog since they do need to be brushed a lot but I like the breed too much so I got Theo about 3.5 years ago and he has turned out well too, although he makes a bit more noise than Remi did. He especially doesn't like it when I leave him alone but he is getting better about that. He may howl a bit when I leave but he stops pretty quickly. With Remi I could just tell him he had to stay home and he would go sit on his favorite chair and not make a sound. But then again Remi did not like other dogs and Theo loves all other dogs as well as people. All in all a great breed of dogs.
