Lunch
Went for lunch with some friends yesterday. Easy to pick something that was close to Paleo from the menu. Had smoked salmon with avocado & salad for entree and steak and salad for main. Chips came with the steak but I was very good and didn't have any. Maybe the salmon shouldn't have been smoked but it was delicious. Also a bit naughty and had a glass of wine. Did not really eat too much of the salad because it has been upsetting me but so far so good.

Liz,
Right on!
I'm glad to hear your going to watch what you eat- it WILL improve your health. I'd take that to the bank because it's working for me.
I'm wondering though, if it might be easier for you to focus on eliminating all gluten from your diet now and then explore dairy and the paleo diet?
Gluten is a big problem for us MC'RS, and in my humble opionion seems to be a root of evil.
So proud of you for taking this step Liz. It's not that hard , and your quality of life will explode!
Love,
Joanna

Joanna,
Our difference just emphasizes how different we all are.
I had a horrid time trying to go GF but Paleo seems very easy in comparison. Actually, I think it is all in the "mind". Depends on how you are looking at things and your reasons for doing them.
I'm so grateful that my halfhearted and unsuccessful attempt at GF didn't "scare" me off from going Paleo.
Also, I know that you kind of eased into Paleo and it has worked wonderfully for you. I'm so glad.
In other words, we all have our own ways of doing things and sometimes it takes a while to find what we need to do and find the courage to actually do it, at least in my case.
I'm positive of one thing though, I'd never have been successful at all without all of YOU!!!
Thanks so much,
Love, Shirley

Shirley,
I think you are quite correct. Attitude, and the reasons why we decide to do things, determine whether a project will seem easy or difficult.
Motivation is a very powerful tool.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
