Hi all. Yesterday My husband and I actually went to a restaurant. It's been a while. It was a Mexican restaurant. I ordered one chicken tamale, no sauce. Side of guacamole. It came with rice and beans. The chicken filling was in a tomato based sauce, so that was a test ( but it was a small amount) I ate half the beans with tortilla chips. The guac had a few pieces of tomato and chopped onion, but I was able to push most of the tomatoes to the side. I waited and waited, went for a hike and waited some more. NOT ONE GURGLE! This morning, I had a little gas, but pretty normal BM! Yay! And I'm only on 3mg. Entocort. I think I am actually healing :)

That's great news, Leah. I eat Mexican all the time, and it "sort of" agrees with me. No gluten reaction, but some gurgles and indigestion at times. Probably the beans, but I don't care. Make sure you ask about the corn chips. I can't eat them at most restaurants because they are usually fried in the same oil as the taco bowls or breaded foods. Chicken marinades can have soy sauce too. But I love having Chipotle and other taco joints as safe options when I'm out and about. Sometimes I remember to bring my own bag of corn chips.
I have 2 great Mexican restaurants around hear that are my "go to" places. I know exactly what I can and can't eat. Luckily tomatoes are ok so I'm a salsa freak.

So glad eating out went well for you Leah and hope it continues - even though you have said not too often for going out. The beans and especially the guacomole would never work for me. The most reactive thing I have found through this long process is the avocada. Why I have no idea.

So glad that you were able to eat out. Mexican restaurants seem to be the easiest on my gut. The biggest problem is that the salsa and chips are very tempting when I'm hungry.
