Happy Birthday To Us -- This Board Is 7 Years Old Today

Post by tex »

Hi All,

At 10 am (Central Daylight Time) this morning, this board reached it's seven year anniversary. Though it existed for a few months prior to that, hidden from the search engines, to give us (the founding members) time to get the basic forums organized, we went public at 10 am, CDT, on May 24, 2005. We've come a long way since then, and the family has grown substantially, but our goal is still the same as when we started, and we have made a lot of progress, and we've learned a lot along the way.

Thanks to each and every one of us for sharing experiences and information, and for being so supportive of others. Personally, there is no way on earth that I could have possibly learned so much about this disease without this board and the one that preceded it. You/we are an awesome engine of education and research, and everyone here has contributed in countless ways toward our progress. We have withstood the test of time, and together, we have earned a respected position in the treatment and understanding of this disease, and we all have a right to be proud.

My sincere thanks to each and every member of this family,

Love,
Tex

Yes, my sincere thanks to everyone here too and especially you, Tex, your dedication to this forum is remarkable. It's always nice to come home here.

BTW, Tex, still haven't sent the gators, was going to send a pair I'd already finished, but my DH had already given them to the person I'd originally made them for so I'm making more today. You will get them soon.

I second Stanz's comments and yours, Tex. Thank you to everyone for your time, effort and understanding in supporting everyone on the board. When I first joined, I couldn't believe that people would take time out of their lives to help someone like me. I've always felt it's important to return the favor.

Ditto to all of the above, this is certainly a milestone and a very important contribution to the health and lives of many.

Thank you Tex for all that you have done; through this you touch the lives of hundreds every day. Its not only those dealing with MC that benefit from this site, but also those they share their lives with.

Happy Birthday and a million heartfelt thanks to you Tex, and everyone else here for making this such a wonderful family - it has helped me immeasurably.

I'll never forget the first time I came on here and saw the PP emblem with the little green person sitting patiently and pensively on the potty - I knew I had come to the right place  .

Wishing the best of health to all of you!!!

Love,
Kari

Happy 7th anniversary!

I am proud to be a part of this family. I am not sure where I would be physically and/or mentally without this forum to come to for suggestions, answers, and the support.

Tex, would you be able to post the thread(s) again about the forum where everyone was before this one, and that courageous woman, I think her name was Sally?

Many congrats and many thanks for this forum. I would not be where I am today were it not for the valuable insight and input of the members here.

Tex,

Thanks for being here. Had I not found this Forum, I would be suffering, but because of you and all the generous people who so kindly participate, I believe I will find remission in the future.

No one ever suggested that gluten was a problem with this disease until I found the PP.

A Million Thanks,

:flowersmiley: :flowersmiley: double thanks to you, Tex, and to the founding members. I would still be the little green person Kari mentioned without this forum.

This forum is proof positive that message boards DO help, that the naysayers who state "don't get advice from the internet" are all wet. I am sure there is not a single person here who would rather take their GI's advice over that of this board's. This is all due to the the fantastic, hardworking Tex and the many caring people who really, really sympathize and want to help other members! Let us all hope and pray that the next seven years will find many more people in remission and that the medical community will wake up and figure a way to help, not hinder people with GI problems!
