Has anyone tried the soy sauce alternative "Coconut Aminos"? I just bought some at a local market. It was on sale ( $5.69 bottle). I am going to try to use it in my peanut sauce recipe and also in my teriyaki marinade. I'll let you know how it goes.
Yes Mandy, when I looked it up, Whole Foods was the first store that showed it.... but the closest one to me is in San Francisco and that's kind of a pain with parking and all. I think they listed it for 7.99. And yes, that is what it is called :)
I've tried it, Leah, with no ill effects, but I didn't like it really well. It might be useful for certain things, if I could figure out what to do with it that I liked. :-)

I ordered it online. I still have 2 bottles of it and I probably won't use them because I like my own homemade"soy sauce" better. I'll send them to you if you like it.

Okay, so I made the chicken over noodles ( corn) with peanut sauce tonight. I used half the amount of coconut aminos in the sauce because when I took a tiny taste from the bottle, it was pretty strong. I also marinated the chicken tenders and also used half the amount. Then stir fried them. The dish was pretty good, but I didn't like the flavor of the chicken very much, so I don't think I'll marinate next time .

I have been reading A few threads today and came across this one after I ordered Coconut Aminos.
I noticed some of the prices here and saw I found A good deal.
You have suggested Coconut Animos recently to some newer members I would have to drive 50 miles to get its hard to do without soy but have to.
Here is the link I hope it saves some members time and money.
If I cant get a product in the town that is within 15 miles of home, i order online... have been ordering MC friendly products online since i was diagnosed 6 years ago...

I follow the same policy as Gabes for almost everything these days. The online prices are usually better than the local price plus the cost of driving (to say nothing of the time involved), and the selection is so much better.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I agree besides the time it takes my DW in the grocery store.
As soon as we go in I want to get it done quick and get out but that never happens.
