I'm another one with sunsensitivity on the face arms and upper body. I tend to go very red and a few days later the dry top layer of skin is coming off but it is not like conventional sunburn. I get hives and itchiness too. I read that it is IgE mediated and I have a lot++ of IgE floating around but it must be degranulation of mast cells. It's a real pain.
I'm calling a dematologist today -- one I was supposed to see in March, but I cancelled because the rash went away. The skin on my upper arms, chest, neck and upper back are an itchy mess!! Why isn't the rest of my body (which gets more sun nowadays) equally affected? Tex mentioned mast cells being concentrated on the trunk. I suppose that makes sense. Ugh.

My mum (CC) had quite bad sun sensitivity while on Methotrexate but it has gone now she has switched to Entocort.
She also has itchy bumps on her head/neck/arms (they look like mosquito bites before she scratches them) so on suggestion from Tex I've trying to organise for her colonoscopy slides to be tested for mastocytic enterocolitis.
She went to a dermatologist a couple of months ago for the bumps and he ran a few blood tests which found nothing and diagnosed them as prurigo ("itchy eruptions of the skin") genius :)

I plan to tell the derm up front that I already know I have an itchy rash, and I'm looking for more information. I suspect if he can't help me, I'll be headed to a local mast cell specialist. My skin is getting worse by the day, even though it comes and goes in some spots.
