Foods that trigger Diarrhea
Until I can save up to do the enteroLab testing I have been eliminating and adding back foods to see if I can figure out
the ones that cause D.
So far I'm pretty sure dairy and nuts and corn are triggers.
I am also sure I get major D from Banana's??? Does anyone have additional info as to if this is possible and if so does it give a clue to any other foods that may also prove a problem for me.
I guess the Banana's surprise me as I have been told to eat them to help stop D.
Thanks again,
K

Kitty,
Yes, you're not the only one here who reacts to bananas. During my recovery I discovered that if I ate more than about half a banana, it would cause problems, and a few others here can't tolerate them at all. I don't recall if other foods would also be implicated by a sensitivity to bananas, but maybe someone else will remember.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Kitty. I can't eat bananas either. I have found Mangos to be great though... and they have been abundant and yummy lately :) Yesterday I ate a pluot (plum/apricot) from a farmers market.... with no skin. Delicious and no problems. I think with me, QUANTITY is key. I can eat a few strawberries, but not a lot of them.
Do nightshades give you problems? I am still not sure about potatoes and I'm scared to try tomato sauce since last time was awful.
I'm back to being able to eat some fiber it seems. fat free refried beans are OK.. as is popcorn popped in coconut oil. Things are looking up :)
