Well, the second attempt on the cat image worked ok. You probably just didn't give it enough time to load, before you gave up. (I suspect that's what happened to Oma, when she gave up).
The first code looks like BBCode, but it is probably the wrong one. ImageShack offers two codes for forums, noted at the right end by (1) and (2). (1) is the correct selection, for this board, so you might have picked (2) for the first attempt.
I don't know what happened to your plate. If you right click on the blank icon, and select "view image", you get an image upload page at ImageShack. Did you by any chance delete the plate image on the ImageShack site? It has to remain there, or it will not show up on this board. IOW, they have to host it forever, if it is to show up here, forever.

I want to show everyone my girls cats here too. They are the most adorable cats, ever! And then all the dogs too. On Sally's picture site there is a picture of Mel and Beth's English Bulldog though, when she was just a puppy! But I just love looking at everyone's pets, so hopefully I will figure this one out when I am less fuzzled.
