Ok Jenny you asked me to let you know how my burger with your recomendation of the Udi's GF,SF,DF roll turned out....well Jenny in a word INCREDIBLE!!! It's been quite a while since I had a real complete burger with a bun.
I slow cooked and smoked the meat over apple wood, I don't think this could have come out any better.
Thanks again for the recommendation
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I can't type so here you go....
It's quite a coincidence that you posted that picture, because today I had my first burger in 2 years. I bought some GF Canyon Bakehouse buns yesterday, so today I had a "real" hamburger. It was a bit more modest than yours though, as I had plain grilled meat with onion and lettuce as toppings. My "sauce" was mustard and vegenaise.
I enjoyed every single bite of it, so even though it did not sit so well with my system, I don't regret it. However, it will be quite a while before I indulge like that again :).

Kari

I don't know what is wrong with me, but I bought Udi's GF burger buns and just did not like the taste at all. Like you Joe with the milk, I cannot find any buns or bread that I like. Rudi's bread, toasted, for a sandwich is about the only one I find tolerable. I tried a burger last night and could only eat half.
I have tried several kinds of buns - no go. There must be something wrong with my taste buds.
Nancy - did you try the Canyon Bakehouse buns??? I don't think I've ever in my life enjoyed a burger more, but that's probably because I've been deprived for sooo long.

Kari

If you can find a bismark pan, it's very easy to make your own hamburger buns with a GF bread batter. They don't take long to bake and they have more body than bread.

Mmmmmmmmmmm Looks SO good!!! I love your pictures.
Nancy, I'm another "odd" one that doesn't like Udi's (or any other GF bread that I have tried. I almost ordered some Canyon Bakehouse buns the other day but shipping was a bit too pricey. I'm going to try a local health food store that according to the internet handles Canyon Bakehouse. I'm not counting on it being accurate though. Been disappointed too many times that way.

I use a muffin top pan to make hamburger buns and broke down and bought (remember I'm the gadget queen) a hotdog bun pan. I, too, like homemade better than buns I've bought. It's funny though, I'm getting where mostly I'm preferring a plain hamburger or hotdog/brat with all the fixings but just skipping the bun.
