Whatch y'all up to?

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Its been so quiet the last week or so, I thought I'd just ask to see what everyone is up to. I know I've been busy and not feeling terribly well because of my GYN problems. Right now I could curl up and take a nap, but there are weekend chores to do. The girls just went back to their mom's after being here all weekend. They'll spend tonight with their grandmother and have tomorrow off from school.

I hope you are all doing well.

Hi Katy

Post by Momster »

I'm still getting back to normal from my busy summer, but making some headway.
Also, getting ready for the family to come for dinner tomorrow for our Canadian Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Peg and Ron are coming, but not staying too long - it's an hour drive to our place and I'm sure she'll be tired, but I'm SO happy she can come.
I've been organizing my beads and getting ready to get back to making stuff for the craft fairs and will get started on Tuesday.
Also, we're starting on our master bedroom and ensuite renovations, so plotting and planning for that. I want a different colour quilt for the bed, but ours is still good so am going to make a sort of slipcover for it in the colour I want. We're going blue and white in the ensuite and will do blue and burgundy in the bedroom.
I hope you're able to get some rest this weekend - you need to look after yourself too. (that's Momster's advice).

Have a nice Sunday

Love - Momster

Hi Katy-

Just the usual running around here....Mike is gone on a hunting trip so I get to deal with *everything* this weekend....Friday I went with Andy's class to San Francisco to see a play - it took 2 hours to get home due to Friday traffic/bridge construction etc. (it's only about 50 miles) and I was exhausted when we finally got back. I took the kids out for dinner that evening (funny thing the teachers were having a *farewell get-together* for the principal who was promoted to HR director for the district... so all of the teachers were in the bar having a great time - my kids kept peeking over there - it's still weird for them to see the teachers in a social setting!) and we went to a family program at our church...

Saturday Elyse had a birthday party at the park for one of her little friends. I sent the boys to the neighbors'. After naptime (her & I :o)) we went to the used bookstore and all of the kids picked out something. We how have a complete "Harry Potter" collection! I spent the evening working on drawstring bookbags the first grade teacher asked me to sew, then I went in the hot tub...

Today we had fall-league baseball in the morning, then I took the boys for haircuts...I am shipping them to a friend's house in a bit while I help one of my tutoring clients with a history project. I'll have to run to the store and get *something for dinner* - and we'll finally get to church tonight. Hope to have everyone bathed and in bed early!! I'm tired and need to do some laundry this evening.

I hope you start to feel better soon! GYN problems are the pits!

Love,

Mary

Glad everyone is keeping busy.

I've been vegging out and being lazy. Friday, my right wrist started twinging and severe pain on the outside of the wrist. I think it is carpol tunnel since I didn't do anything (that I remember) to it.

If it continues, I will probably call the doctor tomorrow to see if I should have it xrayed.

Cold and rainy here this weekend. Hasn't rained today but it is in the low 50's and damp. Rained all day and night Friday and Saturday.

Went to the flea market on Saturday, Larry finally had a weekend off so we spent it away from home yesterday and doing NOTHING today! Kind of nice.

I am off of work tomorrow - YIPPIE - going to do a few loads of laundry and probably nothing else unless I have to make a trip to the doctor.

Enough typing for now - left handed isn't too easy!

Hi Katy,

I hope you start feeling better, so that you can better prepare for the upcoming surgery, and maybe enjoy life a little before then.

I've been spending my spare time setting up a new computer, (adding a second hard drive, and more memory, etc.), and downloading things like a new browser, and the latest version of RealPlayer, so that I can view Pete's Pond, (the wildcam in Africa, that Mars recommended a week or so ago).

Mars,

I certainly hope your wrist problem is something minor, and not carpal tunnel syndrome. That would be a real bummer for someone who spends as much time at a keyboard as you.

Nice to hear what everyone is up to. Do you know exactly when you will be having your surgery Katie? I was 26 when I had to have mine done. The one thing I didn't miss after it was all over was the pain and constant problems. It was also very immotional too. Make sure you take it easy, and listen to your body.

It seems to me I have been spending allot of time trying to find the right foods and treatment for Pebbles allergies!
She has been suffering through so much, and everytime I have gone by what the vets wanted me to do, she just ended up suffering even more. The one thing that she had major problems with is getting the runs, and we all can understand that, having that is not much fun. But with getting sprayed by the skunk and needing to bath her so much, and attempting to get her to eat the suggested dog food for dogs with skin problems, she just had a full blown reaction. So enough is enough. I found a doggie board on the internet and found others that had similar problems.
The thing that gets me is I should have remembered this stuff, some things are common sence. Like, maybe she cannot handle the water and the clorine and who knows what else, so changed her drinking water as well as what she gets rinsed in. And then I went out and got three things aloe vera, tea tree oil, and calendula cream. Those three things calmed her itching right down. AMAZING. Then she is only eating food I make from scratch, and after it is ready I add flax seed oil, cod liver oil, and a few other things, and she loves it. Also has NO more bowels problems.

But that is what seems to have taken up most of my time lately. Except for today, we celebrated out Thanksgiving with my brother. He makes some things and I make some things and voila we have a meal. My youngest daughter and her girlfriend were able to come, and it was just the four of us till later when my niece and her girlfriend got in.
Unfortunately, our night ended early because of me. I have been having more and more episodes with my bowels, and it had to be tonight of all nights that it started acting up. We barely finished our dinner when I started to have the runs and then they put a comedy, well sort of, on the TV. I have a real easy gag reflex, and it was a pretend reality show, and they had to eat something real gross, well, even though I wouldn't look and I kept telling myself it wasn't real, I gagged. And when I gagged, I also lost it else where, so had to go home and get in the tub. Oh, well, it was a great meal. But darn it, in my rush to get home I didn't' get any turkey for a sandwich tomorrow. That is always the reward after a holiday, don't you think? Cold turkey sandwiches.

Anyway, thats it for now.

Hugs

Well I am busier than the proverbial one-armed paper hanger. Work is just getting into the prep for holiday crazy period and I am planning 5 events and it is taking most of my time. When I am not doing that, I am helping to set up Christmas Shop and working on 4 separate multi-faceted projects for my boss. When I get home, I just veg. Much different at home than last year when I was frantically packing and cleaning out a very large old home to move.

Love, Maggie
