Jean-I LOVE Portland. We live in Windham, in the country about 15 minutes outside of Portland. I know about the 1 dog park that you speak of that's off St. John Street but there is also an off leash park (Quarry Park, i think) that is several acres of woods and 2 areas, 1 for smaller dogs and one for larger ones to play.

Cathy,

That's the one, on St John's street. It was opened when the city council voted to close the West End Cemetery to dogs. It always looked so unappealing, hot and sandy. You used to be able to walk your dog off leash at Fort Williams Park in St Elizabeth. Maybe you still can. There was once a really nice big area of mostly scrub and then they made half of it into a ball park so not quite so nice for dogs and their owners. Good to know there are now other places to bring a dog. I lived on Danforth St in the West End. I could walk to pretty much everything.

Thanks Kitty, I'm looking forward to a relaxing week of traveling around N.E., taking photos and meeting some more of this great family.

Kitty are you in the New England area?

LOL at Jean's (apologetic) description of her cooking - "plain, few ingredients, healthy". To someone like me with multiple intolerances, it sounds PERFECT - my idea of goumet cooking! I know Joe will agree!!!

Hugs,

Polly

Polly and Jean limited ingredients and simple ingredients are the key many times to remission.

Nestlé is certainly getting excited for the trips this week, as I was cleaning the SUV out today, I could hardly keep up her out of it LOL

Joe - The weather here is tolerable?? Our weather here is close to perfection! We had wonderful weather (70s and sunny) until January. Then it got cold and a rainy (OK with me) and by April it was warming up again. Now it's lovely sunny days in the best pool in LA again, and cool evenings.

Next time you go walkabout walkabout down this way! I would LOVE to meet you, and anyone else who cares to join you.
I also cook plain food with very few ingredients.

Thanks Maggie it wil be a fun week. Overall it will just be great to get out and about, it's been a long few months.

Denise I work at MIT at the Hanscom AFB facility in Lexington, so Woburn is quite close.

Jenny and Denise, when are thinking of dinner?

Cathy I just sent you a PM, look for the big red letters at the top of the screen "You Have 1 Message" and then click on that.

Once in there you can click on the message I just sent and also send me a message, more or less like you post here, you just need to put the username in and then type the message.

To send someone a private message (PM) just click on the button labeled "PM" at the bottom of any post that they wrote, and the system will automatically open a window in which you can compose your message. You send it by clicking on the "Submit" button below the window, similar to posting on the board (except that only the addressee will ever see your message.

And of course, as Joe mentioned, you can send a PM by responding to a PM that you received.
