PepsiCo Inc. on Tuesday unveiled a bottle made entirely of plant material, which it says bests the technology of competitor Coca-Cola and reduces its potential carbon footprint.
The bottle is made from switch grass, pine bark, corn husks and other materials. Ultimately, Pepsi plans to also use orange peels, oat hulls, potato scraps and other leftovers from its food business.
On top of finding out (maybe I just forgot) that citric acid is made from corn, maybe I've finally figured out why I can't drink soda.

It sounds like they just unveiled the new bottles; not sure they are in production yet. However, almost all soda in the US is made with significant amounts of corn syrup, so if you can't tolerate corn, you won't be able to drink that. Plus neither sugar nor artificial sweeteners agree with most of us, from what I've read.
Have you tried Zevia sodas? The company has been very careful to keep everything harmful out - I can't tell you for sure about the citric acid but they are super-responsive if you email them. I emailed them a week or so ago and they responded within 24 hours. Their products contain no gluten, dairy, egg, or soy, and no MSG. They specifically answered my questions about their natural flavors and caramel colors, which are GF/DF/EF/SF. They encouraged me to email again or call with any further questions. So if you want to ask about their citric acid, I'm sure they'd be glad to help.

ZEVIA has always listed “natural flavors” in ingredient panels. Because of proprietary reasons we cannot list all the flavors we put in our sodas. However, if there is a particular ingredient you are trying to avoid, we are able to confirm whether or not these sodas will be right for you. Just let us know.
There is no dairy, egg, soy, wheat, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish or derivatives from these items in any Zevia flavors. Also, Zevia does not use monosodium glutamate in the production of any of our sodas.
You'll also be happy to know that, since we began in 2007, all Zevia sodas are gluten free. Including the caramel color in some Zevia flavors, it does not come from corn, is vegan, wheat and gluten-free.
We follow guidelines set by regulatory agencies regarding acceptable quantities of any ingredient. We tested all of flavors at Silliker Labs using the "Neogen Kit Insert" test method, and all flavors gave a test result at "less than 5ppm", which means it was not detectible using this test.

I haven't had a regular soda in quite some time except for a couple of Pepsi "throwbacks" (they have real sugar, not HFCS). I found out I couldn't drink them, either. If we want soda, we generally buy some club soda and juice, but I don't usually drink it--the kids do. It's been a quite a few years since I was addicted to soda, thankfully.
