Dumb Me

Post by MaggieRedwings »

Morning All,

Well call me STUPID. I have been using a wonderful priming moisturizer for the last 2 weeks by Laura Mercier - love her stuff and buy it at Neiman's. Well I have felt really lousy the last 2 weeks and have had a mild to mid sized flare up. Friday I went on line at Neiman's to order some - what I had was a sample - and found out the #1 ingredient was Wheat Kernel. Stopped using it immediately and already feel better.

Got to read those labels but the ones with cosmetics are so small I need a magnifying glass plus my specs.

Well, I'm so glad you found the cultret so quickly and aren't blaming it on the stress from your current hectic pace at work! At least now you can feel better. We all need a gentle (or maybe this wasn't so gentle) reminder from time to time to be vigilant.

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for that information. The bad news is that, unless you regularly got some of it in your mouth, it strongly suggests that it's possible that our food intolerances can be absorbed through the skin, if we are especially sensitive to it. A few of us had decided in the Discussions on Treatment Options Using Diet, and/or Medications Forum, that it was not possible for that to happen. So much for arbitrary decisions.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
