MRT test and dietician

Post by Sheila »

My appointment at Signet/Oxford labs is next Tuesday for the MRT blood test, finally. I spoke to someone named Ethan who said they recommend meeting with a dietician 4 times after the test. The first is to go over the test results and the others are to work out a diet. I know many of you have taken the test and some have used a dietician and some not. I also realize that not all dieticians are created equal. The total cost is $795, including the four dietician visits. I really don't think four visits are necessary but I am interested in getting input from those of you who have had the testing. This is pretty expensive and I don't want to waste money on something that will be irrelevent to MC and celiac issues.

Thanks,

Sheila W

Sheila,
I did mine through an inexperienced dietician, and, frankly, it was a waste of money.
The results are more or less self explanatory, and easily understood by people like us, who know what we are doing re:diet.
You can ask questions of those of us who have done it, and we will help.

Message Carol, who did it without a dietician, and paid far, far less.

I agree with Lesley and had the same experience.

I found a local dietician who was trained in the program but was really not practicing anymore. Her husband was a nurse and drew my blood and sent it in for me. She pays I believe $499. to the lab for the testing and report and she charged me $100. additional for her services which I used for about a month by Skype and e-mail. Then I broke a tooth and put her on hold til I was better. Never did get back to her although I feel I still could if I had questions.

I felt she really helped me get started.
