This time from the military. Interestingly, viral gastroenteritis was more commonly associated with celiac than bacterial. I wonder if the vaccines the armed forces receive might be a confounding factor.

You're quite correct. Research done 25 years ago discovered a connection. Actually, the peptides may not be identical, but they are so close that molecular mimicry may be the mechanism by which they are connected.
