Deanna,

Is tramadol an option, or would it cause problems? As far as I'm aware, it's generally safe for most people who have MC. There aren't many other options, other than the traditional narcotic painkillers. I would certainly be afraid to take ibuprofen.

I think I've seen Polly mention taking Aleve? I think it is an NSAID though, but at least it requires much less dosing than ibuprofen.

Deanna
i just had a brain fart, and my apologies i dont recall if you have any histamine or mast cell issues that you are aware of or may suspect are there??

if you do, be aware that having anesthetic can be a big cause of kickstarting histamine/mast cell issues and you may want to take some H1 or H2 blockers before the procedure.

Deanna,
I had the surgery 10 years ago. I can honestly say it was "no big deal". The difference between having abdominal surgery with laporoscopes as opposed to invasive is incredible.
I barely needed pain meds. The pain had been so bad prior that the post pain was nothing in comparison.
I had terrible D prior which resolved post surgery.

Here's holding thumbs that all will be easy and go well!

Hi Deanna,

Prayers are being sent up for you. I had the surgery about 15 years ago - labroscopic - and it was not too bad. I had a severe infection and the gall bladder was totally impacted so I definitely had a longer recovery time but have had no problems since.

Love, Maggie

Hi,

Good Luck with the surgery. I would like to ask you to please post the results, I'am in a very similar situation. I'm holding off on the surgery for fear it will trigger worse D than I have now. One doctor said no this will help it one said it will probably make it worse, so Im holding off for al long as I can.

Feel better soon.

Hugs,
K
