Care Package All The Way From The Other Side Of The World
Hi Gabes,
Guess what showed up in yesterday's mail? I have to say your timing was perfect, because I've been trying to find a way around a technical problem with converting the book into a PDF file, so that it can be uploaded for printing, and I've wasted a week on it, without success. So some "comfort food" goodies brought a nice distraction from worldly problems.
Apparently the problem is due to a glitch in the word processor that I have used for all these years, and nothing I can do will make it work, including third party PDF converters. Every time I try to do a conversion, it introduces changes not only in the formatting of the PDF file, but also in the word processor file, (something that should theoretically be impossible). Not major changes, just minor, aggravating changes that are compounded with every subsequent conversion attempt. This is about as frustrating as an MCer just leaving the bathroom only to realize that it's time to head back. LOL.
So last night I downloaded OpenOffice, and today I'm studying the manual, learning how to use it. I wish I had done this before I started the book, but I had never tried to do a PDF conversion before. I should be able to just copy the text into an OpenOffice document, and reformat everything and reedit as needed, (after I learn how to use it). Hopefully, I'll be able to get it done in about a week. In the meantime, I'll be munching on the Jelly Babies.
Many thanks, Gabes. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness, but you really shouldn't be squandering your money on a ne'er-do-well such as myself. LOL. The cost to ship a package half-way around the world is outrageous. I'm pretty sure I'm not worth it.
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
