PUNCHFORK=recipe site Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Paleo

Post by wonderwoman »

http://punchfork.com/

an amazing recipe site for Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Paleo

I was at my daughters last week. She has had her family of six on the Paleo diet for several years.  Her husband is gluten intolerant.   I thought the way they ate was really weird until I found I needed to eat Paleo with all my new intolerance's.  While at her house, she introduced me to another wonderful recipe site for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and paleo.  This site pulls recipes from MULTIPLE cookbooks and web sites.  I hope you check it out.

To help you navigate the site here are some hints

under SHOWING, ALL DIETS  is a drop down box where you can select All Diets, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, or Paleo

under SORT BY, TRENDING is a drop down box to select TRENDING, NEW, TOP RATED, or MOST LIKED recipes

Say you entered Paleo, and New and hit enter. This will bring up with all the new Paleo recipes WITH COLORED PICTURES that have been pulled from MULTIPLE COOKBOOKS and web sites.  While you are there say you want only new PALEO FISH recipes.  On the upper left side of the screen you can type in FISH for example in the SEARCH RECIPES area and you will come up with all the new paleo fish recipes.

When you find a recipe you like, save it by clicking on the heart icon.  That way you can go back later and view all the recipes on your LIKES page that is found in the upper right hand corner under your screen name.

In order to see the instructions for some recipes you need to click on the web site under PREPARATIONS at the bottom of the screen.

She said that most of the time you can see the ingredients right there.  However, there are some recipes that in order to see the PREPARATION instructions you will need to register ONLY ONCE and you will be able to see the ingredients for the recipes in ALL the different cookbooks and web sites.  I was already registered with Google so I chose that one.

I found several recipes for Larabars by searching on Larabars.  Yesterday I made the Fruity Chocolate Protein Bars that are delicious for when I crave something sweet. Have them in the freezer so I will not be tempted to eat them too often.

I also made a dish from this site with Italian sausage, sweet potatoes, apple, and spinach that was very tasty.

Have fun experimenting here.

I bookmarked that one - so rare to find paleo food that isn't austere.

Last night I made the chocolate cupcakes that are 'trending'. It was my first go at baking using coconut flour. I had expected a strong coconut flavour and the usual grittiness you get with almond meal, but they are so good with a 'normal' texture- you wouldn't guess they are paleo. yummmm.

Thanks for that one Charlotte.
