new symptoms

Post by Cincygirl »

Now, that my diarhea has almost left, I am having such bad cramps and I get so hot, when i have a BM. I was driving a few days ago, and the cramps started, I got so hot, and felt as though I was going to faint. Drove as fast as I could to a rest area. I almost would prefer the diarhea, and not having the cramping and hotness. Can anyone relate? Other than that life is great! :)[/b]

That's interesting that you have the issues with feeling hot with the D events. I know when I have had a bad flare up that after a bad 'session' on the throne, I would always feel almost euphoric, that never made sense.

Keep us posted, I'm not sure I have heard of this before

I can totally relate to what you are saying. Joe you are lucky to have euphoria - wish I did at times. I have the same symptoms and as soon as I can feel the almost fever type hotness come on, I head for the loo. Cramps sometimes accompany it.

Early on in my journey (we're talking decades ago now) I used to get periodic bouts of cramping and sweating type hotness. It too meant a trip to the bathroom and the shedding of clothes (in the privacy of the bathroom only) until it was over. I suspect it is a vagus nerve issue but I don't understand these things well enough to explain why or how:

"the vagus nerve is responsible for such varied tasks as heart rate, gastrointestinal peristalsis, sweating" from:

Maggie, Joe, Jean, thanks for responding, it just helps to know that your not the only one going thru these situations alone. And Jean, I'm right there with you, undressing, fan on me, wet washcloth to my face, it's not fun at all. And it seems to happen many times throughout the day when it does occur. THen. I am wiped out. I used to have this happen years ago, but not as frequently as it comes on now. This was back in the 80's, and was told it was IBS. Talk Again, and Thanks

Linda, for years before my "colitis" elevated to MC, I would get "cold sweats" during an attack. I imagine it is caused by pain and cramping and heaven only knows what else. Recently when I had a couple of attacks of gastritis I also had the "cold sweats". I would be drenched and shivering when the pain would finally subside. This disease is no picnic.

Hi Sheila,

Yep, I think the cold sweats is from the cramping, it about makes me pass out. But thanks so much for letting me know that your in the same boat. It helps!

Are you on Entocort? If you are, it may be time to taper off. Could it be impaction?

Leah,

I am on Budesonide, am now taking 2 a day, instead of the three. And I doubt it's an impaction, no other indications for it to be that.
