Hi all,
I can't seem to get rid of this virus. Felt pretty good during the day, but thing thing comes back in the evening -- sweats and probably a slight fever. Also, a light dry cough that occasionally feels as though there's a little something down there that's not so dry. Not coughing up anything, however. Just have that shakey feeling inside like I'd had a half dozen flu shots.
Really think that Mom has the beginnings of it as I noticed, her perspiring on her face the other day, but just hope hers doesn't get any worse.
Anyway, watch out for sick people out in the world these days, and try to avoid em best you can so you won't get sick. This stuff takes forever to get through, and really will slow ya down.
Yours, Luce

Hi Luce!!!
I am just now getting over the exact thing that you are describing..
It's taken me 3 weeks. I started with a sore throat that wasn't in my glands, but right down the center of my throat. Then I went to flu-like symptoms, chills and sweats, then the cough.. Really weird virus that seems to hit quickly... And hang on longer than we like!
Hope to hear that you're feeling much better.
Love
Dee~~~~~~

Barbs,
You might wanna check with your doc's office as the steroids MIGHT interfere with your immune response. You need a good one of those to get the immunity you seek, I believe, but then perhaps not enough of this particular form goes systemic, but I believe that some of it does.
Also, perhaps some of these viruses are acquired from food. That would mean that the appropriate immune response would occur in the same place where immune responses to food occur -- right where your medication works, right?
May be all wet, so that's why I suggest you call your good ole family doc before you waste a trip to get the shot. Wow, that would be a hard call, making the decision to take a chance on diarrhea vs. flu, but I think I'd gamble on a little D before I'd get the flu. That stuff is awful sometimes!
Dee, I can't get used to your new "handle." Ha! It's good to know there IS an end in site. Perhaps I've not got too far to go.
Possibly I acquired this stuff when we evacuated as I was exhausted just getting everything ready to leave here on short notice, especially with the patient and all the medical equipment and our belongings in tow, plus lots of stuff I had to get done here ahead of time. I was thinking that perhaps I could've acquired something from the A/C vents at the hotel, you know, like Legionnaires Disease!
I'm anxious to get well as I'm headed to the Hill Country for some respite from my caregiving duties. Would like to be able to get a flu shot before leaving as there probably will be more bugs out in the public when it starts getting colder. Just want to make sure I've been free of fever for a while first. If I were to get complications and drag this thing out further, it sure would mess up the travel plans.
Glad you're better Dee. What else has been going on in your world lately. You must be staying busy, but then I miss lots of posts these days.
Yours, Luce

I hope you and Mom are feeling better!!! Where I work everyone is getting sick with that flu. My youngest daughter had it but so far so good for the rest of us.
My group at the office is in a room without windows and terrible ventilation so when one gets sick it usually wipes everyone out.
Hugs
