great hospital visit and her response to antihistamine
Two days ago I had a hospital check up with my GI, I explained that I am taking zyzal daily after trying without success to wean off endocort but this time I have had GREAT results with regular normans for nearly 4 weeks, I explained I have a lot of allergys and she questioned me about them, I showed her the papers I had read on antihistamine and the gut and agreed that it would do no harm, she openly said she had never used this treatment but could see that someone with multiple allergys could benefit and I seem to prove it,in my case at least. Now here is the good bit, she expressed a real and genuine intrest in getting a copy of your book Tex, she said that a forum like this has a huge pool of shared knowledge and asked me to order one for her as she still has a lot to learn!!!! I should also say she was head hunted from a private hospital to the countys main gastro unit in a public hospital and luckily for me she took me with her, she is entirely open to new ideas and is never patronising, lucky me, she ordered the usual big list of blood tests, she is always very thorough but this time added a blood coagulation screen, wonder why, something to do with me taking anihistamine perhaps, so Tex keep two copies of the book for me my GIs name is Dr Jane McCarthy perhaps you could add her name to your list of good ones, she works at the Mercy, Cork city. ps marsh score
I aked what my marsh score was and she said it was almost 1 no blunting of the villia but as I had been gluten free for 9 months she thought that without that I would definately be 1, she also said that on the colonoscopy she saw patchy redness and this would indicate a histamine response so would tie in well to me improving on antihistamines, she agreed that gluten was a no no for me and most likely for other MC people as well, she agreed there is MOST DEFINATELY a link to gluten sensitivity without being celiac, and no we wont be posting her to America!!!!!!!! Hi Beni,
Thanks for the tip on your doctor. I located her contact information on the internet, so I will definitely list her as an enlightened gastroenterologist.
The book will be available for sale on Amazon in at least the UK, Germany, France, and Italy, so presumably it should be available in Ireland. If for some reason you can't locate it, please let me know, and I'll ship you a couple of copies, if necessary. It will be about a week or longer before it becomes available, because I'm currently in the process of reading a proof copy to locate any minor problems (so far I've found a few extra spaces where they shouldn't be, and one misspelled word), and that will probably take a few more days. After I upload a corrected copy, it will probably take at least 5 or 6 days for it to show up on Amazon. It might take longer for it to show up on the European Amazon sites.
Thanks for the tip on a good GI specialist.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
The title is Microscopic ColitisDebE wrote:Tex- if you posted it earlier, I missed it. What's the title of your book?
The subtitle is What Really Causes Microscopic Colitis, Celiac Disease, and Other Autoimmune Diseases?, and this is discussed in Section II of the book.

Hi Gloria,
You're right, I should have mentioned it, because I do discuss IBS in the book. I could have at least mentioned it on the back cover. Once you assign an ISBN (the unique identifying number) to a book, the title cannot be changed. The cover and interior text have already been uploaded and approved. I'm currently reading a proof copy to look for any typos or other errors that need to be corrected, before I tell them to go ahead and start printing.
I should have added a comment about IBS to the back cover.
