The Laugh of the Day for PP Everywhere
"My mouth waters whenever I pass a bakery shop and sniff the aroma of fresh bread, but I am also grateful simply to be alive and sniffing." Dr. Bernstein
Wow Ant - lucky you to have access to the dream restaurant for us PP .
It's so good to see you back here - you've been missed. You were one of the first people to greet me when I joined almost 2 years ago. Hope you're doing well.
Love,
Kari

Dear Kari,
I am on the same treatment (diet and 3mg entocort on average every other day). I have been reading about antihistamine and think I should look at that as a way of getting off entocort (if it is considered less dangerous than long term low dose entocort use).
Thanks for the
Thanks for asking. I am doing pretty well (and coming to terms with the inevitability of my Ma's decline). How about you?Hope you're doing well.

Kari, thanks for starting my day with a laugh! Wouldn't that restaurant be surprised to see PP as customers?......... bet no one else has actually used those toilets yet, but we surely would be tempted! Tee Hee.
Ant, I am becoming a believer in antihistamines as a treatment option. I will post something about this later today.
Hugs,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Ant - glad to hear you're doing better. 1 entocort every other day sounds like good progress. It is my feeling that healing from gluten damage to the intestines takes a very long time. It's over 2 years now since I dropped the gluten, and subsequently "everything else", and I am loads better. However, I'm not yet where I can say I'm in remission, but I most definitely have my life back.
So much of my energy was taken up with MC management over the last 2 years. As you may know, I've had to learn to cook with everything that goes along with that. You are fortunate to have a few safe restaurants where they know your needs and cater to you. I invariably get into trouble when I eat out. I think I'll have to start doing like you, Polly, and bring my own food when I go out :).
As testament to the fact that I'm getting so much stronger and healthier, I have enrolled in a yoga teacher program, which will go through March of next year. If I manage to stick with it and do all the work, I should be able to get Yoga Alliance teacher certification at that time.
As Gabes has said, and Jean has often reiterated, a huge part of living with MC is acceptance and making peace with it. For me, as time goes by, and the management becomes more routine, I seem to do a lot better. I no longer suffer those crushing disappointments when I get in trouble, but trust that I'll get back on track quickly.
Love,
Kari
P.S. I think exploring antihistamines is a great idea - good luck with that.
