An interesting article on genes

and that they don't necessarily determine our destiny.

There is ample evidence that yeasts and bacteria can change their DNA in response to environmental information
This experiment seems to show that nutrition can indeed influence genetic expression, for illness as well as for health. In other words: FOOD OVERRIDES GENETICS! Keep that in mind when you are contemplating the difficulties of healthy eating.

Deb,

Thanks for sharing......very interesting. I always love hearing that genes do not necessarily determine our destiny. I love the fact that meditation can change gene expression. It is a proven fact!

Hugs,

Polly

Hi, The medical advisor for a celiac support group in Boston stated at a meeting, " In thirty to forty years every child born will have a DNA test to determine the DNA defects " Researchers in Boston have stated that we born with as many as ten. The first page will explain the defects and the second page will explain what foods to avoid to not trigger the defect. That has many ethical issues but health insurance companies may require it in order to get insurance. While talking to a researcher from Harvard about a nutritional study he told me that he only had one semester course about foods and nutrition. A book I read " Food and Nutritional Therapies " explains how foods and nutrition can control our health.
