Calling all iPad / iPod / iPhone Users

Post by Joefnh »

With all of the talk about E-readers and folks using the iPad or ipod here, I have been tinkering with the idea of writing a Potty People app. While I m not totally committed to start one yet, I am very tempted. As such I'm looking for input from the group to see if folks would use it and if there were one what features would you want?

To get the thoughts started the main feature is that it would make for a direct interface to he existing website (don't worry Tex no changes in your world) this would just be a more direct interface. Beyond that it could also bundle with it other web resources. Anyway for the moment just a crazy idea...

I would love to have a way to organize the information I've been collecting here. (you know, so I'm well prepared when I visit with my doctor  ) As it is, I've got a jumbled heap of sites, etc. saved in my favorites. I would also be interested to know how Tex has organized all the data he's accumulated over the years. Deb

A lot of it is in the book, of course, but I also use the "Bookmarks" feature of this board to bookmark posts.

I just joined the next century with a smart phone and wonder how I ever lived without one. I was waiting for a plan we could afford. Got one at walmart that gives unlimited web, text, email and 100 minutes for $30 a month. Since I never used my old phone (at least 10years old) but maybe 30 minutes a year it drove me nuts that we were paying almost $90 to Sprint to have two phones that only made phone calls. Hubby will probably stay on Sprint since he wants nothing to do with a smart phone..so far:)

Since I never had the old phone turned on anyway. I turned off incoming calls to save minutes for emergencies ..which is why we had sprint in the first place. The phone is Android and I can listen to books, read books, send/receive texts and email and it appears even GPS navigation is no extra cost.

I have added myfitnesspal app and fitbit app (have gained weight in remission and in the process of losing the extra pounds now).

If there was an android app I would love it!

grannyh,

Good for you! I too was having a hard time paying the big contract companies for just phone service. I use Consumer Cellular and love it. It is a month to month service that uses att's network. It is totally flexible each month, which means you can adjust your plan according to your usage. If anyone is looking to upgrade to a smartphone. They also give a discount to AARP members.

I dropped AARP as soon as they backed Obamacare. I have been checking on phone plans for over a year and I rarely use the cell phone.. as a phone, as I said. I wanted to get more for my money that I would actually use.. the net, email, text, GPS. Our GPS was so old it was almost useless.. now I don't have to buy a new one.. and the phone was cheaper than a new GPS.

I told the kids if they want to talk to me I am almost always home .. use the home number. If it is important to reach me (and I am not home) send me a text/email:) They have had smart phones for years.

grannyh,

I think the best deals are the no contract smartphones IMH0. Sounds like you did your homework!

Sorry, didn't mean to hit a button with AARP.....

Joe,
Would love an app!

Oops, didn't mention that, yes, it is no contract phone. Didn't want to jump into the whole new world of smart phone and be stuck with a contract. I probably didn't pick the right phone.. turns out I can't get one of those nice big rubber protection cases for the one I got.. but I had to start someplace...LOL I did my homework on no contract phone plans not cases for phones...:)
