Polly,
Being the Dr. Frankenstein type - that is - I am not afraid to experiment on myself with vitamins, OTC meds, and prescription pharma, I decided to give the Claritin a try.
I started 3 days ago taking one 24hr tablet in the evening. Mind you I just came off of a flare where a dr. And friend of mine prescribed me a 6 day decreasing dosage of prednisone, which was wonderful. I have had several of these short term scrips over the years and the results are simply never durable - and I never expect them to be.
Well back to the Claritin, after the first day, I too noticed a dramatic calming in my gut and a cessation of my chronic lower left pain. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will help.
Will keep you all apprised.
Rich

Hey there, Rich (fellow OTC guinea pig)!
Good to hear from you again. I hope you find success with the Claritin. Actually, I found that Zantac (H2 blocker) works even better for me than the Claritin (H1 blocker). Gabes found the same. Initially she used both for a while and then was able to discontinue them and only use the Zantac occasionally as needed.
I hope the recent flare is history. Yes, please let us know how you do with the antihistamine.
Hugs,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
