Big celebration tonight!

Post by Lesley »

My son Adam had a very important meeting this morning. He has developed a show at the request of executive producers at Disney and they met with the head honcho this morning. AND IT'S A GO!!! He will be developing his own show at Disney!!!

We are both so excited and proud. I am actually crying from pride.

We are going out for dinner this evening, to a place that serves lobster. You east coast guys will be shocked at the prices, but this is a super celebration. A very special one. I told him that I haven't been doing well lately so I was going to eat whatever at whatever restaurant he chose. He doesn't want that. He booked at this place so that there would be food I can eat.
What a son!

Wow, Lesley! Congratulations to him! Very impressive-- I wish him lots of success and know you are so proud! I hope you'll be able to tell us more as time goes along.

My daughter and son-in-law moved to LA in June 2011. He has a degree in film and is a screenwriter/director (web designer by day) trying to break into the business after some success/film festival awards with a short film. My daughter works at Cedars-Sinai.

Congratualations Leslie! How incredibly exciting this must be for you and your son. From one proud mom to another, I know there is no greater joy than having your children live their dreams...

I have enjoyed reading many of your threads and thank you for such a warm welcome.

Lesley,
That is wonderful. I can't wait to hear more about it. I hope you enjoy your meal, but best of all spending time with your son. You deserve something good happening to you for a change.

Lesley,

I'm going to copy what I just emailed to you before I came here to see what you'd said. "Lesley, this is HUGE for him, and he deserves it, he is really talented. Congratulations, Mom, you raised a creative son and don't for one second short yourself on feeling proud of you too. He didn't become who he is without YOU. I'm just smiling ear to ear, you needed some good news, my friend."

I work in "the Biz", we share kids in "the Biz", Lesley, and I know what an amazing accomplishment this is for him to be given this amount of trust and confidence to have a major studio invest in HIM. If not one in a million, he is at the very least 1 in 100K who ever tried. I'm just so excited for both of you, and having seen his work, it doesn't surprise me at all that he has reached this pinnacle at a pretty young age.

I wish I could give you a big kiss right now, Mom. Love you dearly.

Dear Lesley,

Congratulations to Adam. You are justly very proud of him. That's so exciting that he has this opportunity to develop a show with Disney.

Love,
