6 more sleeps.......

Post by annie oakley »

I am geting a little nervous. :yikes: But it will all be fine. I think my surgeon is going to write me a letter for my disability request. Keep fingers crossed. I ran out of my mobic about 4 days ago......ws suppose to stop taking it for the surgery anyway and let me tell ya....painful it is. Painpills are not touching it...but it will all soon be over. Friday is my last day of work for awhile. That way I will have at least 4 days to rest well. Love to all Oma Aka Calamity

Hi Oma

Look after yourself. Just think another week and it will be all over and you can then concentrate on getting yourself fit & well again. It takes a little while but I am sure you can do it. A friend of mine has had 2 hip replacements, 2 knee replacements & a shoulder done as well. She sents the xray thingys at the airport into overdrive when she goes through. It just about has a nervous breakdown.

Good luck & will be thinking of you.

Love

Liz

Don't worry, Oma. It will be fine. It's a sort of peaceful feeling in the hospital, when they give you the anesthetic and you give control to someone else for a change. Of course when you come home it's back on you! Don't expect much for a while.

I had my 6 week check up and got a clean bill of health, permission to ride my bike, go golfing, go back to work (nah, I told him, I'm retired--he said well never mind then). I find that though my leg is pretty flexible due to therapy and exercises it is still not all that strong and it is easy to overdo.

Pay attention to where it hurts now, because in a week that pain will be gone!

Oma if you have a heated pool within a reasonable distance water exercises are good and don't put weight on your leg. They will probably have a pool at the hospital as they do here.
