Stress certainly triggers a flare
Well, I'm not so sure it is a true flare or just what use to happen before MC every time I got stressed about something. My husband had emergency surgery on Sat. morning for a ruptured appendix. He had been up all night with what we thought a stomach bug, but by 6:00 a.m. the pain got much worse and localized in the lower right side. We went to the ER and they diagnosed him pretty fast and had him in surgery by 11:30. The surgeon said it was a mess. I hit the bathroom several times. Before we left for the hospital and while in the ER. Not watery though. I took a few Diarrhea Stop, which helped. He is going to be in the hospital all week. They have a drain in and he's still not feeling well at all. Hopefully, he'll start feeling better soon.
A ruptured appendix is serious enough, I know. I'm just thankful they were able to take care of it right away.

I'm sorry to hear this, a ruptured appendix isn't anything you'd want and I'm glad he was able to take care of it fast. He must have been in a lot of pain. I've been there with multiple bouts of appendicitis and it isn't fun, mine finally just atrophied and died up. I hope he heals fast. Always wondered if there is a connection between that history and my GS. Does your husband have a history that might indicate he has GS?
Resolved MC symptoms successfully w/L-Glutamine, Probiotics and Vitamins, GF since 8/'09. DX w/MC 10/'09.
Hi Nancy,
I hope your husband is soon as good as new, after going through such a serious ordeal. Your gastrointestinal reaction sure fits the pattern that most of us have found to be true, and it's good to hear that it didn't get out of hand.
I'm guessing that Connie was referring to gluten sensitivity with the abbreviation "GS".

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi,
I'm so sorry to hear this about your husband. I wish you and your husband the best. I hope he heals quickly.
It's like this for me: the more I'm stressed, the more I have pain and diarrhea. I don't know if this is the case for everybody.

It doesn't matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get up en go for it again. HOPE !!!!
Thank you all for your good wishes. I'm sure he will get better, it will just take time. A lot of toxins from a burst appendix.
Connie, he is not sensitive to gluten. Diarrhea Stop is one that works like Immodiam, but no gas, cramps or anything like that. It can only be purchased at a health food store. That is all I have ever used.
I am OK now, I was just off that one day. Just tired.
Thanks again good buddies,
Nancy
