Thank you everybody!!!! I had to share this news with my strongest support group.
We are both pinching ourselves to make sure we are awake.

Now he waits for the offer and a contract, which will probably be a really low ball one. The trick will be to figure out time off from his day job so he doesn't lose it while the show is in development. The whole thing takes a very long time. This is just the start of it.

Down side - he lives very close to me, which is great. He will have to move further away for this gig. Still, I don't see him during the week when he is working and seeing him on the weekend will be fine.

What is interesting is the Disney guy said when he started watching Adams video he was sure Adam would turn out to be "one of those hipsters" every one wastes his time with, but while he was watching he realized this was different. Then he watched the very first animation Adam made while at school, for which he won a very prestigious place at the Oscars of nomination (Connie has seen it, and you can find it on Adamyaniv.com - it's called Downhill) and said he realized that Adam could tell a story!

I know how hard it is to get to pitch this sort of show. I know how hard it was to get an agent. Adam is not a shmoozer, and worked his way to being picked up by his agent on the basis of his talent alone. And that was how he got to this point.
It is literally a dream come true for both of us. It's what I used to tell him when he was little, and I just knew what he would be doing.

The food was awful. The lobstah was nothing like the ones you east coast guys boast about. But the place was pretty, and we went elsewhere for desert.

I didn't eat anything untoward, but my gut has been giving me such hell this will be a continuation.
Tomorrow it's back to baked and mashed potatoes.

Thanks again my friends,

That's all folks!

Congrats to both of you, Lesley! That's quite an accomplishment!

Just watched "Downhill" - terrific! I'm going to share Adam's website with my niece, who is 22 and recently graduated in computer animation. She even has a job in her field (!), making apps. Working with Disney is the ultimate!

Love,

Polly

Thanks everybody!
With a bit of luck Adam will be able to take a sabbatical from his day job. The company is not doing well, and Adam has been working on an alternative. I think Disney is a pretty good one!

Glad you liked Downhill. Adults do, but it scares kids. The one they love is Ketchup, also at that site, for which Adam won a scholarship to study 3D animation at Vancouver Film School. I love it too because the gestures are SO Adam. You can see his acting all the way through.
Of course, all the music is written and played by him. The music in his presentation - ditto. That also impressed Disney.

I have 3 incredibly wonderful kids. They are all doing great, and are tops at what they do.
Adam's area was movie making and music ever since he could first talk. Amazing how you can see these talents from so early on.

Polly, Good for your niece. Getting a job today is not easy!
One thing about Adam - he is ALWAYS ready to help younger people get on. If she wants to contact him let me know.
He is not going to be an animator for Disney, though that is also great. Developing his own show is something so special. In this town everybody is talented, everyone is trying to make it as an actor, a writer, a camera person...
That is why we are SO grateful for this. It took working flat out 7 days a week 18 hours a day, but it's going to be worth it. Hell, it already is!

I watched Ketchup too, Lesley, and it was great. I did notice that "Mom" was included in the "Thanks" at the end. Awesome!

That's amazing news Lesley! Just watched Downhill -- talk about unexpected! It's great!! So much emotion in a cartoon! My kids, ages 5 and 8, watch a lot of Disney. Let me know if your son ever needs a mini focus group!
