Tex is right - Stress and and a flare.

Post by gluten »

Yesterday, the weather service issued high wind warnings and possibility of widespread power outages. Around here if you sneeze too hard we lose power for a week. In the past two years we have lost power five times for as many as two days to eight days. It sends you back to before electricity. No water, no heat, no wood stove only a pellet stove that needs electricity to run. So, yesterday was a stressful day because it is not a question of will we lose power but when. The flare started yesterday evening and is still in progress today. Now, I understand why Tex takes B-vitamin supplements. Stress depletes the B"s. Fortunately we did not lose power. After the last seven day power outage the discusion was made to install a whole house generator. The only comfort yesterday was if power goes out the generator starts and in thirty seconds there is power. Before the generator, I was going to scrap the wood pellet stove for a wood stove. It does not need power and you can cook on it. If you have any questions about the installation of a whole house generator just ask, I did many hours of research before purchasing one. Jon

Generators are becoming a lot more common in South Florida, too. After 4 hurricanes in 2 years people got tired of sweating to death and throwing out food. Enjoy your peace of mind

We've been considering getting a generator, but we're hoping our daughter gets one for her house so we can move in with her when the power goes out.

Jon, we don't lose power too often but in the winter time it does become a problem. As an aside, we bought a Harman Pellet Stove 2 years ago and absolutely LOVE it. I've been trying to talk DH into a generator that automatically turns on when the power goes out. Just can't justify the expense right now. Several of our neighbors have portable ones but I hate how loud they are.
