Not getting sick?

Post by jmayk8 »

Not that I am complaining but, for the past 2 years since basically my dx of LC I haven't gotten sick. I still obviously have all of my GI problems with D etc...But, the common cold, cough, sore throat, stomach bug, flu etc... I have not come in contact with. Again, I am not complaining but, I can only think that my immune system is working a little too well. Like destroying everything, good, bad etc..
Anyone else have this, or any clues to why I am not getting sick?
ps- I am currently not taking any supplements or vitamins.
Thanks,
Jenny

Jenny,
I am in the same boat as you. I can't even remember the last time I was sick. No colds, no flu, nothing. I am very grateful and praise God for that!

I was just thinking that same thing the other day, except for the MC symptoms, no cold, flu, etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this coming winter. No flu vaccine for me, I'm allergic to egg whites.

Interesting topic. Nothing here either. I did have a cold two weeks before my cecal volvulus surgery in 2008. A friend who visited us for a week brought it with her. But I got over it very quickly, unlike the usual two weeks that it took to get rid of it before MC.

Hi Jenny. I think this has been discussed before because I remember saying that I rarely get sick either. I think you are right about our immune systems working on overdrive...... although I did just have a little cold a couple of weeks ago. Maybe me being IgA deficient puts me at a greater risk.

I don't remember when I last had the flu or cold, or anything else for that matter. Interesting question, Jenny.
