Hey Grannyh...I was horribly alergic to asacol...broke out in bad hives and felt like I wanted to die. Hang in there...maybe the entocort is starting to work?

Starting day 9 on Entocort EC. Norman is still elusive but if happiness is a dry fart ( I read that here someplace) then I am on my way to happiness:)

Much less bloating and I feel a little better every day..

Hi Granny!!!
Wanted to see how you are doing with the Entocort????
In my experiences with it, I did not start seeing any improvement, from taking the 3 of them in the morning, until about the 6-8th day.. So, hang in there and give it time to work on the inflammation.
I am presently taking only 1 a day and that is enough to keep things under control for me.
Please let us know how you are doing..

Love

Dee~~~~~

Start of day 10... still no Norman but only going once or twice in the morning and still have dry farts.. it is an improvement.

I tried taking all three in the morning but was terribly bloated and running to the john several times a day. I seem to do better taking them after meals three times a day... Maybe it will just take longer by spreading the pills out..

Here we are at day 14 on Entocort EC .. and pretty close to Norman even with adding in a lot of the foods I had removed...

Leaving the house without wearing diapers is a really big thrill!

Are you following some kind of diet as you come off the entocort? I have just been adding in all the things I have missed eating:)

My doctor says he has people down to one a day.. but none have come off entirely...successfully... I hope you prove to be the exception... and can come off with no problems!

Granny H,
I just went through a 2 month course of Entocort. I was taking 3 in the morning and noticed the bloating too but eventually got better for me. It took several weeks for me to actually feel better (I have mostly nausea as a major symptom) but the actual D stopped in a couple of days. I had no problem weening (sp?) off the drug. Bit of a headache but who knows what that was from. Best of luck to you. It IS a great feeling to be more in control of your body isn't it!

Grannyh,

Hooray for Entocort! It really seems to be a miracle drug for many here. I am so happy to hear that you are better. You have had a rough year!

Grannyh,

So glad to hear your doing well with the Entorcort!

I'm not surprised. This does appear to be a good med for MCr's as Polly mentioned. It's clear that many of us have found relief with it, in in more ways than one. I took it for 6 months and would not be afraid to take it for that length of time or longer. Started a GF diet at the time I started the med and had no problems weaning off it other than a few bumps in the road which I've managed to figure out with diet.

Keep up the good work, enjoy your farts and "pooping properly" I'm so happy to hear your doing well. Just take it a day at a time and enjoy you new found freedom.

Love,
Joanna
