alkaline water----is it good for us?

Post by wmonique2 »

Hi y'all!

someone I know was singing the praises of alkaline water...does it have any merits, has anybody tried it?

I know you can buy it at health food stores or buy packets that you mix in your water bottle...

I was wondering if it would help us have good PH balance and feel better. (This person claimed that cancer cells cannot grow in P.H balanced environment ;-)

Thanks,

Monique

Hi Monique,

Yes, it's true that most cancer cells cannot survive above a pH of 7.5. I'm not sure that drinking an alkaline solution would do much good, though, because once it lands in the stomach, the pH will be reduced to somewhere in the range of 1.5 to 2.5, which is extremely acidic. After the chyme exits the stomach, the pancreas provides sufficient bicarbonate to raise the pH to approximately 7.0, (provided everything is working properly).

Now if you were to put the cancer cells in a petri dish and then douse them with bicarbonate, that would work (except for melanoma cells).
