Have you ever heard of G6PD?
Has anyone ever heard of Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency? Found it on the website for the Feingold Foundation--I had never heard of it before.

Yes. A friend has a son with it. It is x linked, meaning only boys get it. For a lot of kids it causes no issues, but she has to be careful that he avoids all problem drugs, which includes a lot of common antibiotics etc.
All G6PD kids must avoid Fava beans, but some also avoid all legumes.
It is normally included in standard tests for newborns. There are various foundations around to help parents, as reactions can be very serious.
