Hi Anne,

That's good news that you resolved that problem. That's why I would never recommend taking both those two drugs together, because mesalamine can prevent budesonide from working, and vice versa.

I hope your trip goes well, and you enjoy every minute of it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Did I miss that bit in the book? I am going to take the book with me on holiday - I am also going to have to order another copy because I am now annotating my original!!! But it is so good to have something that explains it all!

Anyway, I have to say my experience of Asacol has never been particularly impressive and as they insist on 3 month blood tests I will be quite happy not to have to take it again!

My GP did give me 100 loperamide (Imodium) tablets to take (just in case) although he warned me to be careful because given my 3 or 4 impactions now this year I cannot afford any blockages! But I also have to make sure that if I have a problem that I am not causing a problem by keeping infection in!!! OMG - life is not straightforward with this disease!!!
