SNOW

Post by kate_ce1995 »

What you hear in the weather reports about the northeast is true! The moisture from Wilma mixed with a cooler system and higher elevations got snow yesterday. Wet crappy stuff. We had about 2 inches at my house. Ironically one of my coworkers lives about 1.5 miles down the hill from me, and they got a dusting. By the bottom of the next hill into the center of town, the lawns were still green.

Supposed to be back up in the 50s for the weekend though. This is good because I've still got leaves to rake...heck all the leaves aren't even off the trees yet!

Lucky you. LOL.

We've had temps down in the mid to upper 30s, the last couple of days, down her in CenTex, also, but the daytime highs are up in the 70's, (thank goodness). We seem to have skipped autumn, and we went straight from summer into winter.

We had a little storm last night...I heard there were a few power outages up north....a few trees down...I drove to Vashon Island for a meeting....smooth ferry ride, but a tree had fallen across the hwy....was cut-up by the time I arrived..the wind seems to have been worse out there.

Ahhh....changing seasons...love it! JJ

I don't mind the snow, and love the way it looks when it settles on all the trees. Just don't like the real cold weather that sometimes comes with it. Where I lived up in northern Ontario, Canada, we seemed to get lots of snow and lots of really cold weather. Don't think I could handle that anymore. As soon as the weather got colder here, it hit me. I think I have just gotten spoiled now, usually don't even have to wear boots. Yup very spoiled. Even Pebbles has gotten soft, you have never seen a dog go pee as fast as she can when there is too much snow on the ground! I know she is getting older, so I think I will be going out to shop for some little boots for her this year. I just hope we don't get the rain for Halloween, and or snow. It would be really ideal if the kids could all go out in their costumes and not have to wear winter clothes over top. Hope so at your end too.

Hugs

A little bit of snow would go down very well here, especially in summer time.

Humid and sticky all week and the odd storm. Some up the Lockyer Valley & at Stanthorpe quite severe with crops knocked out & buildings damaged

Looks like the forecast may be right and we are in for a long, hot, stormy, cycloney summer.
