I recently read that 2400 mcg is a good dose, and I'm also aware from this group that it is an extremely important supplement for MC. I find that I've been taking only 500 mcg, from Pure Advantage liquid. I like it because it is free of everything, and of course I could simply use 5 squirts a day, rather than 1, but that would be quite expensive. Checking on vitacost and iherb I am not finding any pure sublingual products --they all have fructose, sucrose, mannitol, fruit flavors, etc. (they must taste awful and want to mask the taste!)
If anyone knows of products out there with minimal added ingredients added, I'd appreciate hearing about them. Also, do you agree that 2400 is a good dose?
Thanks, Beverly

Hi Beverly,
Yes, that's a good dose that you're taking, but so far I haven't been able to find one that doesn't contain at least one of the sugar alcohols. Fortunately, tiny amounts of sugar alcohols don't seem to bother me, even though significant amounts do.
Hopefully, someone else will have some suggestions.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
OMG I'm only taking 15 mcg of B-12 in a B-complex pill and I thought that was a lot since it said 250% of the RDA. I honestly don't know if I'm deficient in that or not. Will ask my doctor next week. I wonder if they check that in a Comp. Metabolic Panel 14 which I had blood taken for 2 days ago.

Terri,
Me too, ditto on that! From this post I realized I was also only taking a small amount ( I don't pay attention to the RDA info) of B12 and am anxious to hear if other MCers have done some research for this one. I am in the process of eliminating all the supplements I purchased before pre-MC Dx and pre-MC support group and replacing them with the recommended ones I find here.
Best,
Pam

This is the product I use. It contains glycerin which is sometimes derived from soy but it doesn't seem to bother me although I am sensitive to soy. I should probably ask the manufacturer what their "natural glycerin" is derived from because there are a number of possible sources including soy but I seem to be ok with it.desertrat wrote:Beverly, try this.
