Paging Polly and Others

Post by Gloria »

I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and the turkey broth is in stock for the season. It's $1.99 for 32 oz. I'm very sensitive to all other broths, but this turkey broth seems fine for me. It's nice to have a break from making my own broth sometimes.

Hi Gloria!

Thanks so much for the tip. I can't remember....did we ever get a list of ingredients for the broth? The fact that you can tolerate it makes me hopeful that I can, too.

Hugs,

Every Trader Joes broth I pick up has soy in it. Haven't seen the turkey yet but I will check it out.

Trader Joes is coming to Denver finally--- very excited! Thanks for the tip, Gloria. I too, am already getting tired of making broth and would like to buy it now and then.

Picked up Turkey Broth at Trader Joes today.

Ingredients: natural turkey broth (filtered water, turkey), natural flavorings, sea salt, evaporated cane sugar (naturally milled cane sugar)

It's the "natural flavorings" that I worry about. I tried to find out what they were at my local store without success. In my experience it often means soy.

Between the soy and almost inevitable carrots, I don't think I'll ever find commercial broth I can eat. I've been making duck broth lately and it's very flavorful, more so than bland turkey. So, so sick of turkey.

Is there a way to find out what those flavor enhancers consist of? It is a bit depressing to look forward to the rest of my life making almost all of my food from scratch. I'll be moving in mid-December, for the very last time I hope, so I will probably be MIA til then.
