It's howling out there now and the rain is coming down in sheets. One of my neighbors called about 6:30 to see if she could come over. She was alone and frightened of the wind. She has a teenage daughter who is at a friend's house for the night. Everything seem to calm down for a while and she left to go home. I moved myself from the living room to the den and it seems to be picking up again. The wind is much stronger. Oh! What a Night . . .

I know I'm not going outside because for sure I'd get blown away. lol

Thanks Joe, my son is fine in Florida, but they are getting hammered in Point Pleasant, NJ where he lives. Actually, he's about 6 miles inland, but not sure how the restaurant is holding up on the Manasquan River. Tomorrow will tell a whole big story. Can you all imagine the area this storm is covering?

I hope everyone remains safe, dry, and keeps their power.

Praying everyone is safe from the storms on the East Coast. Didn't realize we had so many of you in that area. Take care everyone.

I kinda feel bad, i was getting a tired of the USA election on our news, so maybe my plea's for some other type of news was heard and the mega storm of the decade was the outcome!!! sorry for that.....

:razz:

seriously, i do hope all of those on the east coast keep safe and well;
waterproof from the rain, but with flushing water in their toilets;
the only bad wind is those generated by the storm;
once you finish reading tex's book you have other books to read until the power returns; and
none of the good quality GF/MC safe food producers have their factorys damaged.

Gabes,

If that was the cause of the storm, then you're not the only one to blame. I was gettin' mighty tired of hearing all that election BS constantly too, and I'll bet we're not the only ones. LOL. You know, if they took all the money that has been wasted on that campaign, and applied it to useful, productive purposes, a heck of a lot of the world's misery could have been eliminated. Instead, all the campaigning and excessive news coverage is just adding to the misery. :sigh:

Gabes & Tex I'm so tired of the election BS and all of the games, I won't pick up the phone from a polling agency, will not watch the news channels and won't answer the door for a political group... I will however vote, that's the important part, the rest is pure annoyng theatre.

We made out OK here in Central CT. Big wind and squally rain. It was much worse on the shoreline. We didn't lose power, but many in CT did.
However, we are still waiting to hear about the state of my family's beach house in Cape May County, NJ, which pretty much took a direct hit. Photos on Facebook from the island's newspaper yesterday were sobering, and that was BEFORE the storm made landfall during last night's high tide....

Joe, we heard from my nephew in Manchester, and also from my niece in NYC. They are all okay, as is my brother and family in Maryland.

So glad you all are safe. So many folks aren't. My in-laws in Maryland are safe, thankfully.

Praying for everyone as the wrath of this storm is assessed and people try to return to "normal".

I've seen incredible photos and videos on TV while watching the coverage of this severe storm. I'm glad so far it sounds like everyone from the potty site is safe and sound. I'm like the others.......the political commercials I'm sick of but I did watch hours of this coverage on the weather channel..........simply amazing!!!!

We made it through up here in Coastal Maine with just a loss of power for over 24 hours and our siding on one side of our large farmhouse got blown off. Hopefully insurance will cover the siding as it plus insulation was blown into the street and is now in the woods across the street! School has been cancelled for the last 2 days. Back to work today. Had my colonoscopy on Monday afternoon. She took biopsies and there was inflammation throughout my entire colon-not suprising. She again thinks that my LC has evolved into Ulcerative colitis. I can't wait to get back on my schedule. After a liquid diet for 3 days, I have been starving, eating everything in site. Continue to experience normans on the new medication.

We made it through here too in SE Pennsylvania. 6+ inches of rain, winds at 70+ mph and no power from 9:00 PM on Monday till 4 AM this morning. Finally got that cup of coffee I needed. We too are an all electric house and by 8 PM last night it was down to 58 which does not sound cold but it was.

I have a boss with oceanfront home in Ocean City and pretty sure it did not fare all that well. My prayers are with all of those affected and being a kids who went to Atlantic City and Seaside Heights during the youth, I feeel so sad for them. Seaside Heights is destroyed.

Love, Magie

Here in southern Vermont there was a little wind and rain but nothing too dramatic. I didn't even lose power although some people did, a few trees down but really almost a non-event. I am grateful.

So, so lucky. Here in central CT, all was OK. Power out around us, but not at my house. To anyone on the board in the worst of it, thinking of you. This was no ordinary storm.

Looks like we dodged a bullet with the family beach house in Avalon NJ thanks to our high dunes and being on the "better"/south side of the eye. Atlantic City and north to NYC, devastated. Very sobering TV footage.
