Gee, I wonder why? Surely it couldn't have anything to do with an increase in the incidence of non-celiac gluten sensitivity, could it?

The first piece of "research" is surely total non-science.....(see my highlight in red)

Researchers evaluated data from the Continuous National Health and Nutrition Survey between 2009 and 2010, which included 7,762 participants aged 6 years and older. The prevalence of non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), defined as undertaking a gluten-free diet following the exclusion of celiac disease, was determined within this cohort, along with demographics and health status for those with the condition.

People who have been tested for celiac and received a negative result and then gone on (against doctors advice?) to undertake a gluten-free diet do not represent all people with gluten sensitivity. Unless I am mistaken their definition excludes all those with gluten sensitivity that have not been tested for celiac and all those that are not on a gluten free diet. Since when did not treating a disease define people as not having it?

Hahahaha. Good point, ant. I didn't even read that far into the article, since it seemed so asinine. That study was really quite a pathetic waste of time and effort, wasn't it. What a bunch of jerks. That really boosts my faith in medical research. Not!
