I now know what's happening with Oma

Post by Momster »

I was so far behind on the posts I didn't even know what kind of surgery Oma was having. Had time tonight to get into it and so she's having a knee replacement like I had. If any of you are talking to her, tell her to let me know when she gets home and I'll call her and we can talk. I can maybe help with some advice or support and have a long distance plan that includes Canada and U.S.

I'm doing really well with my knee replacement and had the good news last week that I don't have to get the left knee done until 2007, so have an operation free year next year. After the year I've had this year, I sure need a break and time to enjoy myself a bit. Looking forward to the Alaska Cruise in August and just being able to get around a bit better.

I'm still having problems with the fibro and osteo, but can cope with that and just do what I can.

I'm going to be involved in 5 Christmas Craft Fairs this year, so a busy time coming up. I'm looking forward to that and almost prepared. Got a lot of pieces done and tomorrow (Friday) is my day to work on organizing my display.

Well, enough of that - my concern here is with Oma and wishing her well. I know she will be glad she got it done.

I think something should be done about the company she's working for. They shouldn't be able to get away with that.

Positive ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oma. I'm thinking about you.

Hi Momster

What kind of craft do you do. I am a crafty type of person as well and love messing with lots of stuff like crochet, knitting, sewing patchwork & especially quilting. decoupage, cake icing, card making etc.

Good luck with your fair.

Love

Liz

crafts

Hi Liz:

I think you asked me this question before, but I forgot to answer you. Sorry.
I do beaded birds and flowers with seed beads and have branched out to making jewelry with larger beads and magnetic beads.
Thanks for the good wishes for the craft fairs. I hope to at least be able to pay for the supplies I've invested in to make things and a bit extra. I sure enjoy doing it. The avtar on my messages is one bird I beaded.
I also knit, crochet, sew (just started sewing this year), paint pictures (which has gone on the back burner for the past few years) and enjoy most kinds of crafts and learning new things. Keeps my mind occupied and not dwelling on my health. I really started working hard on the beading a couple of years ago because I had limited mobility and it staisfied my need to create without putting stress on my body.

Talk to you soon

Love - Momster :knitting:

Your beading sounds lovely. I have done a bit on fabric but have not tried the sort of things that you do as yet.

It does take your mind off things. I have a little nest beside my chair in the lounge area where I keep my projects such as crochet, cross stitch, any hand sewing etc. Can't just sit & watch TV, must be hyperactive :hyper: .

I used to have a stall at my old club's craft day in September but they have cancelled it because there were not enough stall holders. It gave me another a reason for doing the stuff that I do apart from gifts for family & friends. Also, as you say, helps pay for supplies.

Looking for another avenue and there may be one locally. Not interested in Flea Markets, must be craft oriented.

Love

Liz
