Re-sizing picture
Please can someone explain in really simple English how I re-size a photo? I have tried and only succeeded in downloading a tool bar I don't want! It is 138KB and 640x480 pixels - it is the smallest my camera will do - and I just cannot seem to get it as small as needed for this site! I would quite like to finally put a face to the name!

Anne this has been a problem to get the format and size correct. In several cases now Tex has been able to take the original photo and size it accordingly for an avatar. I would contact Tex and see if you can email him the original photo. Of course I'm assuming that this is for your picture avatar.
If this is not for the avatar PM me and I can give you a hand in resizing the picture, normally you would need some sort of photo editing software. There are several low cost or free photo editiors. If you check, your camera may very well have included a simple photo editior with the camera.

Hi Anne,
Yes, if you will just attach the image file to an email and send it to me, I'll be happy to convert it into an avatar for you. You can send me an email by clicking on the "email" button at the bottom of this post.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

re-sizing your photo
I spent hours trying to do this (I am a newbie on here) and I know enough about computers to be dangerous
Here is a link I used: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/resize.php
I like this site because you don't have to download anything.
Once I carefully lowered the size to less than 6 KB, I was able to add a avatar.
I hope this helps,
Deb
