My GI doctor found quite a few stomach polyps after he performed my endoscopy. He said they were benign and caused by PPI's. So, just another reason not to take those long term for sure. What's weird is that I have never taken PPI's, just my alka seltzer. So I mentioned that to my doctor and he says "no, it's just from PPI use". At that point I wanted to yell at him saying once again that I've only taken Alka Seltzer every day of my life for the last 12 years and wouldn't that have something to do with it? I'm convinced that it was, which is why I will never take it again. He's totally blaming my polyps on something I didn't even ingest....the PPI's.

My husband takes Prilosec and it has helped him greatly. He tried to wean off 2 weeks ago to a lower dosage....didn't work. I told him to quit eating all his greasy, high fat foods and to give up the ice cream at 8:30 at night sometimes. He totally won't listen to me. He really needs to have his stomach checked out cause the acid reflux has him choking some nights.

I sleep on my left side as well if I'm having an issue and I don't eat after 6:30 in the evening.
